Original vintage metal cigarette case showcasing a magnificent cultural and sculptural relief artwork dedicated to Peter Klodt's world-famous masterpiece "The Horse Tamer" / "Taming of the Horse" (Укротители коней) on the Anichkov Bridge in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). This highly collectible and rare piece was produced in the Soviet Union around the 1950s by the legendary Lenemalier Artel (Artel "Leningrad Enameler" / «Ленэмальер»).
The front of the case features an incredibly detailed, high-relief embossed composition depicting a classical nude youth wrestling to control a rearing wild stallion. The dynamic sculptural figure is masterfully rendered against a deeply textured frosted shagreen/grain panel, highlighting the precise anatomy of both man and horse. The interior rim retains the highly sought-after, authentic factory oval stamp with intertwined Cyrillic letters "ЛЭ" (LE), representing Lenemalier's finest stamped post-war metalwork heritage.
Perfect for:
- advanced tobacciana and premium vintage smoking accessory collections
- classical sculpture, Saint Petersburg / Leningrad history, and fine art enthusiasts
- elegant desktop card holders, pocket cases, and curio cabinet displays
- collectors tracking authentic pre-1960s Soviet artel craftsmanship
Features:
- Detailed high-relief sculptural relief: Features Peter Klodt's iconic "Taming of the Horse" monument from the Anichkov Bridge
- Unique textured background finish creating a beautiful contrast against the high-polished central relief
- Authentic Artel stamp: Marked on the inner locking rim with the official "ЛЭ" (LE — Lenemalier) hallmark
- Durable vintage metal construction with a classic silver-tone finish and authentic heavy-aged character
- Vintage post-WWII early USSR production (circa 1950s)
- Mechanical spring-button closure in solid, reliable working order
- Highly collectible and culturally significant art-themed tobacciana accessory
The item is photographed in detail, highlighting the dramatic high-relief precision, dynamic metal textures, and honest vintage age-wear/patina, so its mechanical alignment and exact condition can be thoroughly inspected.
