Vintage pocket snuffbox (or compact cigarette pocket case) produced in the USSR, showcasing a highly charming traditional Slavic geometric and floral engraving style characteristic of mid-century folk metalcraft.
The main front lid features a deeply engraved rectangular panel anchored by a large central rhombus (diamond) frame. Nestled at the exact center of the diamond layout sits a beautifully detailed, rounded stylized flower bloom, extending outward into four ornate engraved trefoil leaves or fleur-de-lis flourishes. The corner spaces outside the central diamond are decorated with dotted geometric star patterns and stylized triangular line fills. The entire engraved scene is securely inset within a smooth, heavy silver-tone metal protective outer frame casing, displaying a wonderful authentic aged patina and historic character.
The top-hinged lid opens securely to reveal a compact storage compartment designed for snuff tobacco, pills, or small pocket keepsakes.
