Vintage pocket cigarette case produced in the USSR during the 1960s–1980s by the historic Lenemalier Artel (Leningrad Enameler, founded in 1929), featuring an elegant stamped architectural landscape of Leningrad (St. Petersburg).
The front of the case showcases a beautiful vertical panoramic illustration of the iconic Neva River embankment. The intricately detailed graphic scene highlights the grand classical architecture of the riverside buildings, a decorative rounded tree, and the monumental dome of St. Isaac's Cathedral rising in the background beneath a stylized sky and sun. At the bottom, a textured stone embankment wall separates the architecture from the rippling waves of the river. This highly collectible piece comes complete with its original vintage paper insert document (passport) and features an authentic aged patina.
This vintage cigarette case has been restored: the metal has been cleaned and polished, minor touch-ups have been applied where the original finish was lost, and, if needed, the internal elastic bands have been replaced. The original aesthetics have been preserved, making it a great addition to any collection. The side locking mechanism is completed with a mechanical push-button closure.
