Vintage pocket cigarette case produced in the USSR during the 1940s–1950s by the historic Novosibirsk Cartridge Plant (NPZ), featuring an exceptionally sharp high-relief artistic depiction of a classical horse tamer statue, inspired by the famous Peter Klodt sculptures on the Anichkov Bridge.
The front of the case showcases a powerful, muscular athlete restraining a rearing wild stallion on a raised stone pedestal monument. The side locking mechanism is completed with a mechanical push-button inset with a polished red garnet stone accent. The reverse side carries an authentic, historic hand-engraved Soviet dedicatory inscription: "В ПАМЯТЬ О СЛУЖБЕ АНАТОЛИЮ ОТ ЮРИЯ 21-04-50" (In memory of the service to Anatoly from Yuri 21-04-50). Inside, the case carries the authentic historical factory hallmark: "НПЗ".
This vintage cigarette case has been restored: the metal has been cleaned and polished, minor touch-ups have been applied where the original finish was lost, and, if needed, the internal elastic bands have been replaced. The original aesthetics have been preserved, making it a great addition to any collection.
