Vintage pocket metal cigarette case produced in the USSR between the 1960s and 1980s, serving as a highly collectible commemorative souvenir dedicated to the historic capital city of Moscow in its official status as a Hero City (Город-Герой).
The front of the silver-tone metal case features a sleek mid-century modern aesthetic dominated by a classic engine-turned guilloche pattern of bold, vertical pinstripe columns. Positioned in the upper left section is a distinct rectangular relief overlay emblem. At the exact center of this plaque lies an embossed five-pointed star—the iconic symbol of the Gold Star medal awarded to Hero Cities. The star is beautifully framed by the name of the city repeating around its perimeter in multiple languages, including "MOSCOW" and "MOSKAU" in Latin script alongside "МОСКВА" in a stylized Cyrillic block font. This rare piece carries a polished silver finish with an authentic aged patina.
The side locking mechanism is completed with a mechanical push-button closure.
