Vintage pocket cigarette case produced in the USSR in 1954 by the historic Mosshtamp Plant, beautifully crafted to commemorate the historic 300th Tercentenary Anniversary of Ukraine's "reunification" with Russia (1654–1954).
The front of the case features an exceptionally crisp high-relief artistic depiction of the iconic monument to Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitsky in Kyiv. The design showcases the legendary Cossack leader in traditional attire on a powerful rearing horse atop a rocky stone pedestal. The central composition is beautifully enclosed within a highly ornate rectangular frame composed of fluid baroque scrolls and dense oak leaf garlands. At the base of the pedestal, an embossed commemorative plaque reads the Cyrillic text "300 ЛЕТ ВОССОЕДИНЕНИЯ УКРАИНЫ С РОССИЕЙ" (300 Years of Reunification of Ukraine with Russia), flanked by the historic commemorative milestone dates "1654" and "1954". Made from premium solid brass with a refined golden finish and an authentic aged patina. Inside, the case carries the authentic historical Mosshtamp factory hallmark.
This vintage cigarette case has been restored: the metal has been cleaned and polished, minor touch-ups have been applied where the original finish was lost, and, if needed, the internal elastic bands have been replaced. The original aesthetics have been preserved, making it a great addition to any collection. The side locking mechanism is completed with a mechanical push-button closure.
