Vintage brass pocket cigarette case produced in the USSR by the historic Lenemalier Artel (Leningrad Enameler, founded in 1929), featuring a highly iconic, military-themed engraved design dedicated to the Soviet Airborne Forces (VDV) and parachuting.
The front of the case showcases three paratroopers descending with open parachutes. The main, larger parachutist in the foreground is rendered with fine line detailing on the shroud lines and canopy, while two smaller parachutists float in the background. The entire sky-diving scene is beautifully set within a cloud-like, engine-turned background panel filled with dense, textured vertical lines that catch the light. This rare mid-century military souvenir carries an authentic aged patina.
This vintage cigarette case has been restored: the metal has been cleaned and polished, minor touch-ups have been applied where the original finish was lost, and, if needed, the internal elastic bands have been replaced. The original aesthetics have been preserved, making it a great addition to any collection. The side locking mechanism is completed with a mechanical push-button closure.
