Rare vintage pocket cigarette case crafted in the USSR, featuring an exceptionally powerful and detailed high-relief artistic depiction of the iconic Monument to the Destroyer "Steregushchiy" (Guardian) sailors located in Saint Petersburg.
The front lid showcases a beautiful, sharp stamping of the historic bronze monument, which commemorates the heroic Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905) naval battle. The dramatic scene depicts two imperial sailors inside the flooded hull of the destroyer, desperately working together to open a seacock valve to sink their own ship rather than surrender it to the enemy. At the top of the cross-shaped monument relief, the bold stylized Cyrillic name "СТЕРЕГУЩІЙ" is cleanly displayed. Made from durable silver-tone metal, this historic mid-century item has been meticulously restored: the metal has been professionally cleaned and polished, minor touch-ups have been carefully applied where the original finish was lost, and new elastic bands have been fitted inside to ensure full functionality while preserving its authentic vintage aesthetics.
