A monumental piece of post-World War II Soviet monetary history: an original large-format 50 Rubles Banknote (Билет Государственного Банка СССР), officially dated 1947.
Issued during the famous December 1947 monetary reform under Joseph Stalin, this majestic banknote is highly valued by collectors for its exceptional engraving quality, classical security borders, and deep historical resonance. The left side features a detailed, fine-line engraved portrait of Vladimir Lenin inside an oval frame adorned with oak and laurel leaves. The top center prominently displays the post-war State Emblem of the USSR with 16 ribbons representing the sixteen Soviet socialist republics of that era (including the Karelo-Finnish SSR).
Features:
- 1 single authentic vintage Soviet banknote
- Year of Issue: 1947 (Post-WWII Stalin Era)
- Denomination: 50 Rubles / Пятьдесят Рублей
- Emblem: 16-ribbon Soviet Coat of Arms
- Design: Ornate multi-colored security guilloche geometry and a wide watermark field on the right with a protective underlying mesh pattern
- Condition: Circulated historic paper grade, featuring true vintage character, handling folds, slight storage toning, soft corners, and genuine archival patina as pictured
