An extraordinary and highly specialized historical collection of vintage postage stamps issued during the turbulent early months of World War II (1941) in the Baltic states.
This rare philatelic set features scarce local provisional overprints applied onto Soviet standard stamp bases. It includes the complete run for Latvia overprinted with "LATVIJA 1941. 1. VII", alongside historically vital local wartime issues for Estonia (Estland/Eesti). The Estonian section showcases localized overprints from key cities including Pernau (dated 8. VII 1941), Dorpat (Tartu), Narva, Reval (Tallinn), and Viljandi. All stamps are in premium Mint Hinged (MH) condition with full original character, sharp overprints, and no cancellation marks.

Features:

  • Set of 11 vintage stamps
  • Authentic WWII German local issues (Baltic States / Ostland)
  • Issued in the summer of 1941 during the transitional wartime period
  • Includes targeted regional overprints: Latvia, Pernau, Dorpat, Narva, Reval, and Viljandi
  • Base stamps feature Soviet definitive portraits, architecture, and pilot designs
  • Mint Hinged (MH) condition (unused, clean mint condition without postmarks)

The set includes stamps with various base denominations and surcharges, such as:

  • 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 100 kopecks (with additional charity/local surcharges like +15 and +100).

A fascinating collectible for:

  • World War II (WWII) and German regional philately specialists
  • Baltic states (Latvia and Estonia) postal history experts
  • worldwide collectors tracking localized provisional, wartime, and overprint issues
  • premium military history ephemera and international postal archives

The stamps are photographed in detail so collectors can carefully examine the condition, overprint alignments, perforation variations, and margins included in the set.
You will receive the exact collection shown in the photos.

Please note:

  • This is an original vintage philatelic collection from 1941, not a modern reproduction.
  • Minor signs of age or album storage marks may be present due to the wartime nature of the collection.
