A highly specialized and historically compelling collection of vintage postage stamps issued by the Kingdom of Romania during the critical World War II years (1941–1943), focusing on regional administrative and charity issues.
The top row features semi-postal charity stamps showcasing iconic cultural architecture, including the Sucevița and Putna monasteries in Bukovina and the Soroca fortress in Bessarabia. The middle and lower rows highlight the fascinating Transnistria regional issue dedicated to historical leader Gheorghe Duca, inscribed with "Duca Vodă Domnul Moldovei, Hatman al Ucrainei" (Lord of Moldavia, Hetman of Ukraine). The set is excellent for shade studies, featuring paired duplicates of the 6-Lei, 12-Lei, and 24-Lei values. Select pieces show light authentic period postal markings, while the rest preserve Mint Hinged (MH) collection status on the reverse.

Features:

  • Set of 11 vintage stamps
  • Authentic Kingdom of Romania WWII regional and charity issues
  • Circa 1941–1943 wartime era
  • Features the complete Transnistria "Hetman Duca Voda" thematic series with shade varieties
  • Includes Bukovina and Bessarabia historic monastery and fortress designs
  • Mint Hinged (MH) condition with select historical cancellation marks / postmarks

The set includes stamps with the following Romanian Lei denominations from the series:

  • 1 Leu, 3+0.50, 5.50+0.50, 6, 12, 10.50+1, and 24 Lei.
