Collectible artifact from the early formation of the Soviet Union: an original 100 Rubles State Currency Note (Государственный денежный знак), officially dated 1923.

Issued during the final stages of the post-revolutionary monetary consolidation period (the "Sovznak" era), this banknote is deeply prized by historians and numismatists. It features a masterful, dense brown and tan baroque guilloche scrollwork pattern framing the text block. The top center displays the very first official State Emblem of the USSR featuring 6 ribbons wrapping the wheat ears. The face also preserves the authentic printed signatures of the legendary People's Commissar of Finance, Grigory Sokolnikov, and the cashier, A. Sapunov.

Features:

  • 1 single authentic historical early Soviet banknote
  • Year of Issue: 1923 (Early USSR / Sovznak Monetary Era)
  • Denomination: 100 Rubles / Сто Рублей
  • Serial Number / Prefix: АЦ-5421 (Boldly stamped twice in black typography ink near the bottom)
  • Emblem: First official 6-ribbon USSR Coat of Arms
  • Condition: Circulated historic paper grade showing excellent crisp detail, full untrimmed margins, minor natural handling folds, and authentic vintage character as pictured

A fascinating collectible for:

  • Soviet Union, early communist history, and NEP era collectors
  • Banknote and paper money specialists (bonistics / monetary reform currency)
  • Graphic design, security typography, and early 20th-century engraving curators
  • Archival curators looking for genuine examples of early 1920s Eastern European financial history

The banknote is photographed in full detail against a clean layout background so collectors can inspect the intricate repeating background safety mesh numerals, signatures, and genuine edge margins. You will receive the exact item shown in the photo.
