collectible artifact from the turbulent early years of Soviet Russia: an original 100 Rubles State Currency Note (Государственный денежный знак), officially issued in 1922 by the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic (RSFSR).

Released during the post-civil war New Economic Policy (NEP) era to stabilize hyperinflation, this historic "Sovznak" banknote is deeply prized by historians and numismatists. It features an intricate red and rose baroque guilloche scrollwork framing. The top center prominently displays the original State Emblem of the RSFSR (with the initials Р.С.Ф.С.Р. inside the wreath). The face also preserves the authentic printed signatures of the People's Commissar of Finance, Nikolai Krestinsky, and the cashier.

Features:

  • 1 single authentic historical early Bolshevik banknote
  • Year of Issue: 1922 (Pre-USSR Union / Early RSFSR Era)
  • Denomination: 100 Rubles / Сто Рублей
  • Serial Number / Prefix: ЖА-3086 (Boldly stamped in black typography ink below the signatures)
  • Emblem: Official early RSFSR Coat of Arms
  • Condition: Circulated historic paper grade showing true vintage character, full untrimmed margins, natural handling folds, minor corner softness, and authentic paper patina as pictured

A fascinating collectible for:

  • Early Soviet, Bolshevik revolution, and NEP period history collectors
  • Banknote and paper money specialists (bonistics / monetary reform currency)
  • Graphic design, security typography, and early 20th-century engraving curators
  • Archival curators looking for genuine examples of early 1920s Eastern European financial history

The banknote is photographed in full detail against a clean layout background so collectors can inspect the intricate repeating background safety mesh numerals, signatures, and genuine edge margins. You will receive the exact item shown in the photo.
