A highly specialized and elite historical collection of vintage postage stamps from the turbulent early years of Armenia, covering the first Democratic Republic of Armenia (ADR) and the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic (1920–1923).
The top sections showcase a magnificent compilation of the legendary, large-format pictorial "Paris Issue" designed by Arshak Fetvadjian. These finely detailed, unperforated Masterpieces depict crucial national symbols: the sacred Mount Ararat, the mythical Bird Sirin, a traditional Armenian lion, and rich medieval ornamentation. The lower-left area highlights a premium, highly collectable provisional block structure featuring the scarce black handstruck "Yerevan Monogram" (Erivan Overprints / "KhP" matrix) applied onto Imperial Russian stamp bases during the post-WWI transition. The set is beautifully completed by early Soviet Armenian and Transcaucasian SFSR hyperinflation star overprints. All stamps are in premium unused Mint Hinged (MH) condition with full original character and no cancellation marks.
Features:
- Set of 27 vintage stamps
- Authentic early Democratic Republic of Armenia & Soviet Armenia historical issues
- Circa 1920–1923 post-WWI independence and trans-Caucasian Soviet transition era
- Features iconic national designs: Mount Ararat, Mythical Sirin, Armenian Lion, and regional monuments
- Includes a premium 11-stamp overprint combination block featuring early Yerevan Monograms
- Classic imperforate (unperforated) variants and historic color combinations
