Original vintage 1000 Rubles State Treasury Note (Билет Государственного Казначейства) dated 1919. This iconic large-format banknote was issued by the High Command of the Armed Forces of South Russia (Вооруженные Силы Юга России / ВСЮР) under the administration of General Anton Denikin during the height of the Russian Civil War.
Often referred to by collectors as the "Ribbon Note" or "St. George Ribbon Issue" due to the prominent graphic representation of the black-and-orange ribbon framing the top of the design. The highly decorative banknote incorporates intricate traditional Russian vignettes, including a monument scene on the left, a heraldic rider slaying a dragon (Saint George / White Movement emblem) on the right, and complex cross-hatched security borders. The note displays sharp serial markings and printed signatures of the Head of the Finance Department (M. Bernatsky) and the Head of the Credit Section.
