Original 5000 Rubles State Note (Пять Тысяч Рублей), officially issued in 1919 by the Rostov-on-Don Office of the State Bank under the High Command of the Armed Forces of South Russia (Вооруженные Силы Юга России - ВСЮР).
Highly celebrated among numismatists as one of the most artistic and political issues of the anti-Bolshevik White Movement led by General Anton Denikin. The wide left coupon field displays the historic ideological slogan of the movement: "Россія Единая Великая Неделимая" (Russia United, Great, Indivisible) set above the provisional double-headed eagle. The top center features an ornate, fine-line engraved vignette portrait of Saint George the Victorious (Георгий Победоносец) slaying the dragon. It bears the official printed signatures of Governor Gulbin and the cashier.
Features:
- 1 single authentic historical Civil War regional banknote
- Year of Issue: 1919 (Russian Civil War / South Russia White Army Era)
- Issuer: Rostov-on-Don Office of the State Bank (ВСЮР / Denikin Issue)
- Denomination: 5000 Rubles / Пять Тысяч Рублей
- Serial Number / Prefix: ЯБ-020 (Visible typography stamps on the left coupon)
- Artwork: Features St. George vignette, political slogan text, dense security lace weaves, and heavy baroque garlands
- Condition: Circulated historic paper grade showing true vintage character, full untrimmed borders, natural handling folds, light corner soft lines, and authentic aged patina as pictured
A fascinating collectible for:
