Regional currency artifact from the Russian Civil War: the reverse side of an original 100 Rubles State Note (Денежный знакъ) issued in 1919 by the High Command of the Armed Forces of South Russia (Вооруженные Силы Юга России - ВСЮР) under General Anton Denikin.
Popularly known among collectors as "Denikin Rubles", these notes are celebrated for their rich patriotic and historical imagery designed to rally support for the White Movement's vision of a "Great, United, and Indivisible Russia". The right side features a magnificent engraving of a medieval Russian Bohatyr warrior in full chainmail armor and a historic helmet, holding an ornate military banner. The center features a detailed oval vignette of the famous Minin and Pozharsky Monument in Moscow, flanked by heavy garlands of fruits, cornucopias, and classical legal tender text inscriptions.
Features:
- 1 single authentic historical Civil War regional banknote (Reverse side shown)
- Year of Issue: 1919 (Armed Forces of South Russia / Denikin Administration)
- Denomination: 100 Rubles / 100 Рублей
- Art motifs: Features a Russian knight/warrior, Moscow's Minin & Pozharsky monument, and heavy Baroque ornamentation
- Condition: Circulated historic paper grade, full untrimmed borders, natural soft corners, minor handling folds, and genuine vintage patina as pictured
A fascinating collectible for:
- Russian Civil War, General Denikin, and White Guard military history collectors
- Banknote and paper money specialists (bonistics / provisional revolutionary currency)
- Russian patriotic art, classical monument engraving, and heraldry curators
- Academic research archives focused on anti-Bolshevik propaganda and home-front logistics
The banknote is photographed in full detail against a clean background so collectors can inspect the detailed fine lines, dark brown/sepia ink tones, legal text blocks, and the wide watermark margin field on the left. You will receive the exact item shown in the photo.
