Highly celebrated among numismatists for its complex and beautiful neoclassical design, this high-denomination currency was produced by the local administration in Southern Russia during the breakdown of central cash distribution lines. The focal vignette showcases a fine-line engraved portrait of the famous Cossack Ataman Matvei Ivanovich Platov (Войсковой Атаманъ Матвѣй Ивановичъ Платовъ) in military attire. The portrait is flanked by two allegorical female figures representing commerce and industry, set within an architectural base block. It features the official printed signatures of Governor Gulbin and the cashier.
