A visually stunning and historically significant collection dedicated to the very first revolutionary stamp of the Soviet Republic—the iconic "Sword Cutting Chain" design (originally designed by Richard Zarrins).
This unique philatelic set bridges two eras: it features an authentic numbered 1968 USSR Souvenir Sheet (containing 2 stamps) commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the First Soviet Stamp, alongside six original historical single stamps from 1918–1922. The vintage singles include classic 35 and 70-kopeck base issues, scarce "Doplata" (Postage Due) overprints in gold currency, and crucial 1922 "RSFSR Golodajushchim" (Famine Relief) charity overprints. All items are in premium Mint Hinged (MH) condition with full original character and no cancellation marks.

Features:

  • Set of 8 vintage stamps (including 1 numbered souvenir sheet with 2 stamps and 6 individual singles)
  • Commemorates the iconic 1918 "Sword Cutting Chain" — the first Soviet postage stamp
  • Includes authentic 1918–1922 RSFSR historical issues and a 1968 USSR jubilee block
  • Features scarce "Doplata" (Postage Due) and 1922 Famine Relief charity overprints
  • Mint Hinged (MH) condition (unused, clean mint condition without postmarks)
  • Beautiful layout balancing original history and anniversary philately

The set includes stamps with various denominations and overprints, such as:

  • 35 and 70 kopecks (base and anniversary issues), 14 kopecks "zolotom" (Doplata surcharges), as well as 250 and 2000 rubles (Famine Relief overprints).

A fascinating collectible for:

  • early Soviet Union (USSR) and RSFSR philately experts
  • worldwide collectors specializing in Souvenir Sheets, Famine Relief, and Charity stamps
  • Russian Revolution history buffs and design enthusiasts
  • antique paper and premium historical ephemera collections

The stamps are photographed in detail so collectors can carefully examine the condition, crispness of the overprints, paper toning, and margins included in the set.
You will receive the exact collection shown in the photos.

Please note:

  • This is an original vintage philatelic collection (dating from 1918 to 1968), not a modern reproduction.
  • Minor signs of age or album storage marks may be present on the older stamps due to the age of the collection.
  • Carefully packed and shipped worldwide from Ukraine.
  • Import duties or taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations.
