An exceptional historical collection of vintage postage stamps from Ukraine, covering the turbulent period of the Ukrainian War of Independence and early Soviet era (1918–1923).
This highly collectible philatelic set features two iconic series: the 1918 definitive issues of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR) denominated in "shahs" (shahiv), which include the classic national trident (tryzub) and the famous allegorical portrait of "Young Ukraine" (a young woman wearing a traditional wreath). The set also includes the scarce 1923 Soviet Ukraine issues featuring dramatic historical allegories and a portrait of the national poet Taras Shevchenko. All stamps are in Mint Hinged (MH) condition with full original character.
