An exceptional and historically vital philatelic collection from the period of the Ukrainian War of Independence (1918–1920), representing the postal history of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR).
This specialized type set focuses entirely on classic Imperial Russian definitive stamps heavily modified with early Ukrainian provisional overprints. The iconic black and violet overprints showcase different regional types of the Ukrainian National Trident (Tryzub) emblem. The top row features highly sought-after large-format ruble values (including 1, 2, 3, and 5-ruble bases) bearing bold national overprints, while the lower rows expand the collection with a comprehensive study of low-denomination kopeck issues with various handstruck and printed trident matrices. Select pieces bear authentic period postmarks and postal cancellations from their window of commercial use, while beautifully preserving Mint Hinged (MH) collection status on the reverse.
Features:
- Set of 27 vintage stamps
- Authentic 1918–1920 Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR) provisional and trident issues
- Issued during the historic Ukrainian revolutionary and independence era
- Includes high-value large-format 1, 2, 3, and 5-ruble overprinted bases
- Features a vast array of regional Trident (Tryzub) overprint variations and shapes

The set includes stamps with various base denominations heavily modified by tridents, such as:
