A compelling historical collection of vintage postage stamps from the RSFSR and early USSR, issued during the turbulent post-revolutionary period and currency reforms of 1917–1924.
This philatelic set features three authentic quarter blocks (blocks of 4 stamps) and six individual single stamps. Notable features include dramatic black surcharge overprints (such as "100.000" and "40.000" rubles) from the hyperinflation era, alongside the famous 1924 semi-postal charity issue "For the Benefit of Sufferers from the Flood in Leningrad." Most stamps bear authentic period postmarks and cancellation marks, while preserving Mint Hinged (MH) collection status on the reverse.

Features:

  • Set of 18 vintage stamps
  • Authentic RSFSR & early USSR revolutionary and post-civil war issues
  • Circa 1917–1924 era
  • Includes 3 distinct quarter blocks (12 stamps total) and 6 single stamps
  • Features heavy surcharge overprints and the rare 1924 Leningrad Flood Relief charity stamp
  • Mint Hinged (MH) condition with historical cancellation marks / postmarks
  • Iconic early Soviet designs including symbols of labor (Sickle, Hammer, Book)

The set includes stamps with various base denominations and surcharges, such as:

  • 14 kopecks + 10 kopecks (Flood relief), 250 rubles, 1000 rubles, and overprints of 40,000 and 100,000 rubles.

A fascinating collectible for:

  • early Soviet Union (USSR) and RSFSR philately collectors
  • worldwide philatelists tracking hyperinflation and surcharge postal history
  • Russian Revolution era history buffs
  • antique paper, charity stamps, and historical ephemera collectors

The stamps are photographed in detail so collectors can carefully examine the condition, overprints, perforation variations, and postmarks included in the set.
You will receive the exact collection shown in the photos.
