A magnificent historical collection of antique definitive postage stamps from the Russian Empire and its specialized foreign post offices, dating approximately from the 1880s to the 1910s.
The top two rows showcase the backbone of the pre-revolutionary tsarist postal system, featuring the iconic central state coat of arms—a double-headed eagle set within an oval medallion with crossed postal horns beneath it. The standout feature of this collection is the bottom row, which contains six scarce Russian Post in the Ottoman Empire (ROPiT / Russian Levant) issues explicitly inscribed with "Vostochnaya Korrespondentsiya" (Eastern Correspondence) for Levant maritime and trade routes. Most stamps in this set bear authentic period postal cancellations, while preserving Mint Hinged (MH) collection status on the reverse.
